His Story
Hi! I’m Mary Anderson.
The Lord surrounded my earlier years with countless
adventures in the Michigan outdoors,
fostering a deep, mutual enjoyment
in both nature and adventure.
Within my immediate and extended family,
I’m thankful He imparted a sincere faith that valued God’s love in Christ Jesus.
Cherished memories of my mother and grandfather
as faithful prayer warriors continue to grip, echo and live on.
Although I encountered an absent father,
praise God His Sovereign hand ran through this deep loss,
to draw my faith ultimately to His Father heart.
Listen to Brenton Brown’s song: 01 Our God Is Mercy (Live)
A false hope in the American dream
led my pursuit towards a career in professional modeling.
In New York City, our merciful God strategically,
yet quietly whispered questions to the vanity and futility
found within the American dream.
“What good is it for a man to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit his very self/soul?” ~Luke 9: 25
With the Lord’s reputation to hover over and be on the move,
He lovingly pulled me out of the world’s parade
to breathe eternal air.
“There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death.” ~Proverbs 16:25.
In His providence and faithfulness to the fatherless,
God pursued me beyond to risk it all at the cross of Christ.
While my heart that He created was wretched and unworthy,
by the grace and mercies of Christ
He restored to my soul a new heart and spirit that continues to amaze me to this day.
He called me to Himself when I was 21,
through a desperate hunger for His powerful promises,
gentle Presence and the reality found in Christ;
a Refuge and Rock sufficient to align not only my worldview,
but also my entire life upon.
“When your words came, I ate them;
they were my joy and hearts delight,
for I bear your name, O Lord God Almighty.”
~Jer. 15:16
“For the Word of God is living and active.
Sharper than any double-edged sword,
it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow;
it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
~Heb. 4:12
“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit,
who is in you, whom you have received from God?
You are not your own; you were bought with a price.
Therefore honor God with your body.”
~ 1 Cor. 6:19, 20
Be encouraged by Tenth Avenue’s song: 03 You Are More
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you:
I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you
a heart of flesh.
And I will put my Spirit in you and move you
to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.”
~Ezekiel 36:26, 27
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace
in which we now stand.
And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God
…and hope does not disappoint us,
because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
whom he has given us.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.”
~Romans 5: 1-8
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) was a strong tool as the Lord initiated seasons of unforgettable discipleship, in learning the cost of following Him and the healing available through biblical community. I’m grateful for mentoring relationships where the Spirit is patiently active in maturing my soul, especially when a young believer. Thankfully God was gracious in my return home to Michigan for a season to support my mother during her health struggles. With a family move shortly after to St. Louis, Missouri for 10 years, then further south to Dallas in 2004-2016, where I was a former minister on the Groups team at the Village Church. It continues to be my joy to engage women in leadership, biblical counsel, and to encourage all to ‘live in Christ’ with a Biblical worldview. Be it consulting work in leadership or biblical counsel, reach out for us to connect together! The Great Commission is a call to all believers to engage within the cultural mandate, simply where we reside in our community, and be co-workers together in making disciples for His glory. Phil.2. Recently, we have entered a new season and relocated to the north, residing in the Great Lakes area.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
~Matthew 28:18-20
